... and I would like to add, that celebrating the first Moon Landing, here in Argentina, we also celebrate the "Día del Amigo" that is "Friends Day", and we just call our friends or reunite for a lunch or drink with them. This was an idea of a local dentist, whom viewed the arrival of Man to the Moon, as a symbol of Universal Friendship, and tried to make this celebration an Universal one, though regretably, I feel it is only a local festivity, which we remember every July 20th, with much joy. So, I send all you my best wishes for the Dia del Amigo, and show a watch related to this week end theme. This is a very little known Pilot´s watch, which is a very humble and little known timepiece among those related with flying, which was developed by Universal Genever with the Scandinavian airline SAS in the 1950´s, to be used by their pilots flying the then revolutionary new Polar routes, joining Europe with the USA. This particular example I own, has some little interesting features: First, it is called "Polarouter", which was the original model name, before being change for the definitive name "Polerouter". Being of the first batches made, it makes use of caliber 138SS which is a bumber movement, used before adopting a micro rotor caliber this brand is famous for. Finally, this particular example was sold by famous South American jewlery store "Freccero" of Uruguay, which, as was the custom in those days with other very few and selected stores, (Tiffany´s and Serpico & Laino the most famous) had their name marked on the dials. Hope you like it!! have a great week end and a nice Dia del Amigo tomorrow the 20th!! Best cordial regards, Abel.
