I meant that to be a little tongue-in-cheek in my effort to capture the extent to which each and every part is critical to the proper functioning of a watch and that each and every part SEEMS to be the absolute most important when you're focusing exclusively on it for a period of time.  That said, yes, the hairspring is the watch. smile
