Amerix, I have some troubles understanding your objections...

'Before starting this typical PR you had to remark' - I don't see the problem here. I stated that the following is a press release, as such by definition 'typical' in sense of promoting a watch, written and designed by the brand itself. I did not give the impression that I wrote this nor that it represents my opinion.
' That may well be, but should not serve as an introduction to the PR itself. ' - could you share a bit why?
' as a person, not as a Moderator' - dito, Moderators are not brand-ambassadors and not cheerleader in chief (which in the specific case would be non-sensical if one assumes economic reasons behind), thus ...
' Why do you "love" this particular watch?' - I allow myself to answer this quite valid question as a (moderating) person:
There is for me no doubt that RG has for me personally (' I am helplessly... ') this watch is a piece of art. The way it is designed, purely aesthetically speaking, is extremely appealing to me, a mosaic structure implemented with tiles made of semi-precious stone, each of them obviously carefully selected. Look how the light floats through them!
Then there is the scenery - Rio de Janeiro is a favourite city of mine, the surroundings well imprinted into my photographic memory, not only the statue, but also the calçada promenade close Ipanema beach with its idiosyncratic stone patterns - all excellent memories on a city I frequently visit.
As regards the construction of the watch I think this is technically a very original and excellently executed watch with a lot of typical details instantly recognisable as a Romain Gauthier watch. I think Don has extensively written about this watch.
Both artistry and watchmaking class are aptly wrapped into a half hunter watch which again leaves the time dial open for reading the time (think Breguet Ref. 1801), but fashioned in a way that naturally fits RG's original movement layout.
So, there is little not to love - at least for me... ;-)
Thus, when the press release came in I was shortly before heading to a meeting - I wanted to share with those who do not necessarily read the News section, and what I posted was what time allowed.
Magnus
