It's always a great pleasure to look back again to these watches, thanks Fx.
About
your feelings, it was the 3rd time only I had the great pleasure to
visit this event. As it is the only one with the little "Les Montres" gathering,
it's not hard for me to be really excited and delighted tospend time there,
especially because of all the Indies showing their pieces and the
atmosphere felt through it.
I never went there on thursday as
everyone told me it's a true ordeal/nitghmare for visitors. Finding another
selection process might appear to be tricky as every AD or Com. manager
have theire own list, but I don't think I'm legitimate and aware enough
of these events to judge.
As for the watches, I must say I really
liked this Opus 12 too (dimensions aside). The technical interest is
huge, original, complex and the aesthetics pleases me a lot.
I also found this Russian complication interesting and unusual. It's not so often we discover something new. Still a lot of work to do on the finishing though ^^
I really liked very much (randomly):
- the Montblanc Villeret monopushers Chronos and the fantastic Tachydate(a little bit smaller would be better);
- The L.Leroy Marine Chronometer and the dials coating, colors, hands thinness, case design;
- The Julien Coudray's hours ring;
- Greubel Forsey's blue texture/color and the top notch finishing and incredible parts' thinness in all their watches;
- MB&F's white gold LM1 I could admire, many different parts in nearly the same color but finished different ways, the overall coherence .... ;
- The theories found in FPJ's Chronometre Optimum (I hope it will be as reliable as it is exciting);
- And De Bethune of course (DB28ST, DB25QP, DB27, Starysky ... + all the others :p .... Yes I know I can't refrain myself from not being objective concerning DB);
- UN's enamel dials.
Cheers,
Mark
